More Raven More Errant

It's the SPOOPY SEASON! And RAVEN ERRANT has had THREE BIG UPDATES (have I used enough CAPS LOCK in that first sentence?)

Among these were ...

 THE TUTEONIC ORDER!

(caps again!)

Who introduced uniform colour schemes to skins. After this all other teams also got their own colour skins on appropriate armour (mostly coat type AP).

We have also gone into the 13th Century, and coded crossbows, standard (with pulling the string back via a hook or leather strap) and the heavy Windlass kind (look it up it is a thing).

Crossbows have more accuracy, do more damage, take less stats (STR/DEX) to use - which makes them cheaper for factions to buy, but take 4 times as long to reload as a longbow ... and I reduced that from reality to fit game time.

We also have a whole new load of weapons, and a rejigging of AP stats for armour.

STR class weapons, if you are going for a STRENGTH BUILD (those caps again) now have ARMING SWORDS (caps!) which are mostly Oakeshott Type 12 (that is a thing and if you have any interest in medieval anything I suggest you check out the Oakeshott classification system - no to be confused with Elizabella Oakeshotte who is not a relation ...).

Also GREATSWORDS (it's tha caps lock again!) made an appearance with the Type 13a ( a quite common massive choppper - oh er missus).

BUT WAIT ... THERE'S MORE!

Transitional maille, ridiculously silly Enclosed Helms, and finally, we break into the FULL PLATE with a GREAT HELM ... which is nearly as silly as an enclosed helm ... why would you have a flat top? I mean I had a flat top in the '80s but it was a hair thing - Guille had a better one.

I also decided that the standard, non aligned  shield textures were a little dull  ... so I gave them a "make over" - which is some sort of posh code word for changed; behold Ravens!

RAVENS ERRANTING!

So all the shields, new and old, got a spray paint with a Raven print.

Raven Errant will continue to be updated, as we head into the - brrrr, I need a thicker duvet on my bed, time of year.

I also ended up a year closer to OBLIVIAN (not the video game) and went to a 21 year old's birthday party! Those kids were singing the old Bon Jovi anthems I did in the 1980s - but only me and some old dear knew all the words to the hits of the NEW ROMANTICS!
